Kaveh Saidi has a Bachelor's of Music in Violin Performance from the
University of Texas at Austin (96) and a Masters of Music (99) in Violin
Performance from Boston University.

In addition to performing as a freelance violinist in the Boston area,
he has been a member of the Cape Cod Symphony (MA) and
Nashua Symphony (NH). Kaveh has also been a member of the ALEA III
Contemporary Music Ensemble. He currently performs as a founding
member of the Broad Street Quartet. Kaveh's teachers include
Burton Kaplan, Peter Zazofsky, and Vincent Frittelli.
Kaveh has just finished four nights of performances with Pearl Jam!
It was truly a thrill to perform as part of a string quartet with Eddie Vedder at the
helm- especially in the final days of the historic Wachovia Spectrum in Philly.
As an alternative musician, Kaveh has worked with rock acts such as Jim Boggia,
Fooling April, Tim Sonnefeld at Milkboy Studios, Chris Farrell, and Stephen Tirpak at
Larry Gold Studios. Kaveh performs as a solo and collaborative artist in Philly at
venues such as Chris' Jazz Cafe, the Tritone, North Star Bar, Milkboy, and the Fig
Lounge. You can find Kaveh performing around Philly with the Rit Mo Collective!
Kaveh inpedendently wrote, arranged, performed, recorded, produced, and released
his 2007 solo album Clear Light Parts the Haze at Kaveh Saidi Music in Philadelphia.
Look for a new album in 2010.
Kaveh currently teaches violin and strings in the School District of Philadelphia at
three schools including the arts magnet GAMP. He has been a faculty member at the
Settlement Music School, where he continues to present master classes. Kaveh is
also an adjunct professor of violin at Immaculata University.
Kaveh has worked with the Greater Boston Youth Symphony, the Governor's School
of NC Youth Orchestra (performing entirely 20th century repertoire), and Camp
Encore/Coda. He has four years of experience teaching private and group violin
lessons in the Milton public school district (MA), and continues to give seminars on
home practice techniques for young musicians. Kaveh has three years of experience
as the String Orchestra Director at the Episcopal Academy, where he taught group
string lessons, group guitar, chamber music, and conducted four String Orchestras.
Kaveh has completed Massachusetts Music Education Licensure through Boston
University, and is also fully certified in Pennsylvania in music, K-12. Kaveh is also a
certified Suzuki violin instructor, and includes some Suzuki elements in his teaching.
Kaveh's teaching philosophy is similar to his life philosophy: A personal commitment
to incremental improvement in all areas of life is essential to happy development, as
well as the mastery of challenges.
